Azim Jenk Ali
Music Producer & Multi Instruments Sessionist
A Malaysian drum prodigy, Azim "JenK" Ali was born on March 5th 1989 in Kuching, Sarawak is among the top names in the music industry. Well known for his work mainly with Kamar Seni Recording Studio, as well as his explosive and energetic drumming in live performances. He is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, arranger and sessionist. Among his showbills are Dato’ Ramli M.S., Lemanband, Noh Salleh & Restoe Iboe Band, Faizal Tahir, Nastia and many others.
JenK Ali started playing drums at the age of three and had an early exposure listening to Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind & Fire, Yellowjackets, all the way to heavier sounds such as Dream Theater, Metallica, and Mudvayne to name a few. He first learned music from his father, Ali Hairunie, a well known and influential bass player and teacher in Kuching, Sarawak and had such an early experience performing in the Sarawak Symphony Orchestra (SONS) lead by his uncle, Syafiee Obe. His musical sense matures from an early stage, where he gained knowledge and experience from being surrounded by music influencers in his environment.
In 2008, JenK Ali migrated to Kuala Lumpur at the age of 19, has caught many ears of top producers, artistes and music-directors, landed him various music projects, television programs, prestigious award shows, and live concerts. From Kamar Seni Recording Studio ultimately, JenK Ali has been credited in more than 50 albums, apart from other sessions or independent involvements in other recording studios throughout the years.
JenK Ali has established his signature drumming style in the local music industry and is aspired to share a piece of his musicianship in his next milestones.
